Last April 29th, my husband and I went to Goyang, a city in Gyeonggi Province in the north of South Korea for the international flower festival. Goyang International Flower Festival is an annual event that takes place at Ilsan Lake Park from April to May. This year the event is from April 27 to May 13 with 330 participating companies from 33 countries.

It took us about 1.5 hrs to get from Seoul to Goyang proper. We just followed the signs leading to the assigned parking lot for the event. Then a free shuttle bus took us to Ilsan Lake Park.

For more information visit the event’s official site.
My husband and I enjoyed the event but we didn’t stay long. After a quick tour around the exhibition hall, we took the shuttle bus back to the parking lot and headed to a matjib (popular restaurant) in the area. As expected, there were a lot of people waiting even though it was already late for lunch.

Our orders were mainly 2 servings of Yeontan Jeyuk ssambap (18,000 KRW) and an additional serving of JJukkumi ssambap (10,000 KRW). The rest were free unlimited side dishes. The food was so good but too bad it’s far from our house.
IKEA was our next stop after having late lunch. It was my most favorite part of the trip -shopping! It’s where I had the most fun. :-p
