I was so overjoyed to be reunited with my dear Korean chingu (friend) after six long years. We were workmates back then and it was a pleasure working with her as she was optimistic and passionate about life. We used to chat a lot over coffee after work, but we lost contact with each other after she left due to family problems. I also got so busy with my own life that I failed to communicate with her.
Last month, she sent me a message through Kakaotalk saying she wanted to see me. With so much excitement, I immediately set a date for our meeting. We met in Gangnam for an Italian lunch and went to Jamsil to do some Christmas shopping together. It was so uplifting to know that we still had the chemistry even after a long time of no communication. We had six years worth of stories to share.
Just like me, she also loves tea, so I brought her to my favorite spot in Jamsil. We celebrated friendship with this royal tea especially chosen by French three-star Michelin chef Yannick Alléno of Signiel Seoul. ❤
Though we didn’t take a photo together (coz she hates taking photos ever since!), I was glad that my friend enjoyed our date and I really hope to see her more often. Indeed, happiness is meeting an old friend after a long time and feeling that nothing has changed. Real friends don’t grow apart even when they don’t talk everyday. ❤❤❤
